You have got to be kidding me. Fox all but admits that it’s a wholly owned subsidiary of the GOP and Keith gets potentially booted for three $2,400 donations? He didn’t even promote them in any way! Fox promotes GOP members and Tea Partiers like they are part of the company…well, some are. Sure, I’m an Olbermann fan; but, I’m also a bigger fan of pointing out the idiocy in our media. To be honest, stories like this make me sick of all of it.
Something needs to be done about the media in this country. It might come off like I’m kissing ass, but the Huffington Post is exactly the type of advancement in media that we need. Social networking allows all of us to be reporters, commentators, pundits, etc. We need media that isn’t married to business. It should just be a “really good friend.”
Of course, I already know the response they’ll give: “Well, business is business and donations are not approved by MSNBC.” Can we look up how much the owners and head honchos at MSNBC donated as well? This is SO stupid. Citibank can give unlimited amounts of money to any candidate they want (thanks, Supreme Court! Ugh.) and Keith gets fired for a total of $7,200?
I could go on and on about how rotten this smells. Keith knows it, MSNBC knows it and all of us know it too. My advice to Keith: Screw ’em…hard.
